Itinerary

Tour highlights: Terelj National Park/ Tonyukuk monuments/ Buryat way of life.

Tour description: An excellent insight into the life of the Buryats one of the more numerous of the ethnic mongol clan.

Day 1. Drive to Terelj National Park. Hiking. Horse trekking.Visit to a memorial ger to Chinghis Khaan. Overnight  in Terelj Juulchin camp.

Day 2.  Drive to Turkish monument, Tonyukuk, Built by the Turkish Orkhon State Minister Tonyukuk in 744 AD. Picnic lunch on the bank of Kherlen river. Tent camp.

Day 3 - 5. Visit to a Buriat family and experience the traditional Buriat way of living. Horse riding. Hiking the woods and mountains of Henti Nuruu Uuls. Enjoy their carving and woodwork of Buryats. Buryat singing and dancing. In the evening enjoy a Buryat festival at a huge camp fire. Traditional Buryat Yohor dance by men dancers. Traditional Buryat dinner.

Day 6. Visit to a Buryat hunter’s home and listen to the old  hunter’s stories. See the trophies. Photograph. Continue  towards Ulaanbaatar. Tent camp on the bank of Kherlen  River.

Day 7. Onward travel back to UB.

Price Includes: All transportation between tour cities in Mongolia by air, bus, or rail; Mongolian invitation. Accomodations and three meals per day at double occupancy. National and local guides.
